• To cope with labour shortages, Ananda Development has established a construction firm to take on one-third of its backlog. "This will support our investment plan in the future," Chanond Ruangkritya, president and chief executive officer of Ananda, said yesterday. Helix Co will be an independently run profit centre, capable of carrying out new and advanced technology, and led by chairman Suvit Kiat-samphan, a 40-year construction veteran, and CEO Chutha Prom-chinavongs. Helix has registered capital of Bt89 million and is fully owned by Ananda. It is already working on some Ananda-run Atoll housing projects. Helix will help Ananda build condominium projects at 245 mass-transit stations by 2022, when Greater Bangkok's commuter train network is due to be completed. This year, the company plans to launch 13 condo and housing projects worth Bt24 billion. Five are Ideo projects, with the first two sites located on the |Thon Buri side of the Chao Phraya River. Ideo is the flagship brand for condos located no further than 300 metres from a mass-transit station. Ananda is also starting a new phase of its sole Elio project off Sukhumvit Soi 64, which is 53 per cent sold out. The remaining seven projects are branded Atoll, comprising detached houses, duplexes and townhouses near and around Suvarnabhumi Airport. Ananda is targeting presales of Bt14.9 billion from these projects, which would be double last year's presales. It also expects to book Bt12 billion this year from loan-enabled transfers of units to buyers.
